The rest of the story is about how Emma learns to pretend to be Sutton, and tries to investigate who the murderer of her twin sister is. She then later finds out an even scarier thing, that Sutton is dead. She is mistaken by Sutton’s friends, and is then forced to pretend to be Sutton. The girl’s name is Sutton, and she replies saying that they should meet up.Įmma decides to go to Arizona to meet up with Sutton, and when she gets there, it is so not what she thought it would be. Emma then decides to contact this girl via facebook, telling her that they look the same and are potential twins. Emma is then kicked out of the home because of she is accused of stealing. Neither one of them knew of each other.Įmma finds out about her secret twin when her repulsive foster brother shows her and her foster mom, a video of a girl that looks like Emma being what looks like the girl being choked to death.

Emma was in foster care, while Sutton lived in the “glam life” in Arizona with her adoptive parents. You see, Emma and Sutton grew up apart, totally polar-opposite lives. In the exciting and suspenseful book called The Lying Game, twins Emma and Sutton are reunited, well Emma believes she is going to see her twin. But 6 books? I don't think I can stomach that, so I am just going to google who the killer is and be done with it.Have you ever dreamed of having an identical twin? What if it turned out that you had a secret twin that you never knew about? What if you were really adopted, and had no idea who your birth parents were? Well, for twins Sutton and Emma Mercer this is their life. As a trilogy I would've given it 3 starts. So here I am, going through the 3rd book only to find out that there are a total of SIX BOOKS! If this was only one fat book, I would probably would have given it 4 stars, as it did keep me guessing and entertained. I happily bought the second book, but at the end of that one, the killer wasn't even near to be revealed, and that really annoyed me. It is well written, and although some of the situations are very forced (like how Emma found out about the existence of her twin sister), overall the plot is interesting and addictive, in a guilty pleasure king of way. If you are not expecting a literature masterpiece, you would probably enjoy the book.

I wanted a lighthearted summer read, and this one had good reviews so I decided to give it a try. I bought this book on an Audible sale and that should've been my first clue. Beware, there are SIX books on this series
